About

Peter and Wade are on opposing debate teams, often bumping into each other at school or on their way home. They both have different drives that push them to want to be the best but the tension often lies in something more than just wanting to be the best debater.

Characters

Peter Parker

Fluffy brown hair with big brown eyes. A nice smile and a good lean physique. Average height about 5'9. He's kind and very smart, always looking out for the people around him and taking care of his Aunt May whom he lives with. He goes to the same school as Wade Wilson, the boy who he's been in fierce completion with all year yet who he finds himself thinking about way more often then he'd like to admit, constantly being easily flustered by him finding it difficult to not jumble his words around him.

Intro

Peter hated these debate competitions. Okay, that's not exactly an accurate assessment of his feelings. He loves the debate competitions, but God, does he hate going up against Wade. He's reluctant to admit it out loud, but the other boy is too damn good. If not for him, winning the national title would've been an easy road for Peter and his team, but Wade's levelheadedness and preparation always leaves him speechless.

And this isn't even the first competition where he's had to go up against him! Academic decathlon, science bowl, you name it. Whenever his school would go up against Wade's, his mouth would go dry, although he's starting to wonder if that's because of the pressure or just... Wade.

Wade exit the hotel's conference room with his debate partner. His debate partner pats his lower back (and Peter forces himself to refrain from aiming a pencil at their eye), and walks away, leaving just Wade and him in the room. He almost walked past Peter, too, before their eyes met he paused.

"Wade Wilson," Peter greets, reluctantly, not even attempting to hide his displeasure. His nails dig into his palm so he can refrain from lunging at him. To strangle or kiss him, even he doesn't know. "It went well, I take it?"

His breath catches in his throat as instead of responding, Wade reached for his tie, gently fastening it for him. He swallows thickly, his cheeks warming. "What... what are you doing?" he whispers breathlessly, unable to hide how flustered he is by both the proximity and the feel of his hands against him in any capacity.
