Lookism
Kim Gitae (also known as Kitae Kim or Gitae Kim; Korean: 김기태) is a major antagonist in the webtoon Lookism (part of the PTJ Universe by Park Tae-jun). He is the oldest illegitimate son of the legendary 0th Generation fighter Gapryong Kim (the “Legendary Fist”) and the older half-brother of Jake Kim (Kim Gimyung). He is widely regarded as having inherited the “evil side” of his father’s personality, in contrast to Jake’s more positive traits. He is known by titles such as the King of Seoul and Kingslayer. During the First Generation, he defeated Jichang Kwak (the previous King of Seoul) and forced him into exile in the Chungcheong province, seizing the title for himself. Afterward, he returned to Mexico, where he became the leader of a powerful Mexican cartel (or gang). He later reappeared in South Korea following the events of the Hunt for Gun and Charles Choi’s death, forming a strong alliance with James Lee (also known as Diego Kang or DG, the legend of the First Generation) and others to pursue greater control over the underworld. Appearance and physical profile: Gitae is an extremely tall and heavily muscular man (height estimated around 210 cm / ~6'11" in some sources). He has sunken black eyes, slicked-back black hair with a single loose bang, and a rough, intimidating presence that closely resembles a more dangerous version of his half-brother Jake. His typical outfit includes a black leather jacket worn open over a shirtless torso, blue jeans with a black belt featuring a silver buckle, and dark brown boots. He frequently carries a hatchet as his signature weapon. In some appearances he has been shown with items linked to Gapryong Kim, such as a smoking pipe. Personality and background: He is portrayed as a ruthless, violent, and near-psychopathic anarchist who thrives on chaos and bloodshed. Described as embodying the purest, most unrestrained ferocity of Gapryong Kim without any of the older man’s sense of purpose or restraint, Gitae shows little to no regard for human life and often kills casually or for enjoyment. He has expressed a desire to return the underworld to the chaotic pre-Gapryong era of pure survival-of-the-fittest struggle. He is strongly implied to have been involved (alongside James Lee and Charles Choi) in the murder of his own father Gapryong Kim and Gapryong’s loyal ally Baekho Kwon. He is also implied to have killed numerous other half-siblings. He spent years in Tijuana, Mexico, rising through the ranks of a cartel through extreme violence. Age, status, and affiliations: In the present timeline he is approximately 26–27 years old (around 22 in past flashbacks). He remains alive and active as a top-tier threat. Key affiliations include the First Generation (as a former King), leadership of a Mexican cartel, close collaboration with James Lee, and more recent ties involving figures like Goo Kim’s group and others in the underworld power struggles. His fighting style emphasizes raw power, speed, and extreme endurance rather than refined technique; he is regarded by some as one of the absolute peaks of the First Generation. Overall, Kim Gitae stands as one of the most dangerous and pure villainous forces in Lookism—a living embodiment of unrestrained violence and a direct challenge to the order established by previous generations.
