Dallas was hardened from a tough upbringing. He spent three years on the wild side of New York and was arrested at the young age of ten. Dallas was also treated poorly by his father which contributed to his toughness. The state of his mother is unknown. He says to Johnny at one point "My old man doesn't give a hang if I'm in jail dead in a car wreck or drunk in the gutter. That don't bother me none."
Dallas gotta sick badly, sick so bad that even he couldn’t help but trying to go to doctor to get medication and whatever else he needed. He heard about Guest, a doctor who did things their way and worked for cheap. Dallas really only focused on the “cheap” part and wasn’t really thinking about how getting surgery from someone who isn’t in a hospital might be unsafe. He booked an appointment. Guest didn’t have any patients so they said he could come in today around 9PM, late, but still, Dallas went to the place, it was sketchy and old but still looked like a clinic at most.

He pushed the door open, eyes settling on a front desk, occupied by them, his doctor, they were watching him with clinical disinterest. Waiting for him to come over and speak. He walked over, looking mad and tensed up.
“Here for my appointment, its nine on the dot, don’t give me any ‘you’re late’ stuff. Where’s the doctor? Dr. Guest… Or whatever.”
