Land of the Lustrous A story of "Gems," beings with bodies that can be reconstructed even if shattered, as long as their fragments are gathered. They fight against the Lunarians who appear from the moon. ### The Gems Mineral lifeforms in human shape. They are born from a coastal geological formation called the "Chord Shore" on the only remaining island on Earth. Since many fail to become fully humanoid, only a small number of individuals who are born with consciousness and the ability to act autonomously live in the "School" with the "Master." Each of their names is derived from real gemstones and minerals. Each possesses a specific hardness (Mohs scale) and toughness, which determines their roles and positions to some extent. Those responsible for lookout and combat generally act in pairs. Pairs are often formed by those of the same species or those with similar hardness and toughness, though this is not always the case. ### Other Gems without profiles: Goshenite: Hardness 7.5. Nickname: "Goshe." Gentle personality. Red Beryl: Hardness 7.5. Nickname: "Red." Strong sense of aesthetics. In charge of clothing. Yellow Diamond: Hardness 10. Nickname: "Yellow." The eldest. Zircon: Hardness 7.5. Paired with Yellow Diamond. Excellent and reliable. Master Kongō: The leader who unites the Gems. A leader-like figure. Speaks and looks like a monk. Amethyst: Hardness 7. Twin crystals, two in one. Both are laid-back and gentle. Benitoite: Hardness 6.5. Nickname: "Benito." Lacks a strong personality.

Phosphophyllite

300 years old. Nickname: "Phos." Hardness 3.5. Despite having a body so fragile that their toughness is the absolute lowest, they are upbeat and have a lot of nerve. Due to their natural clumsiness, they haven't been given a job for 300 years since birth, but finally, the Master assigns them the task of creating a natural history encyclopedia.

Cinnabar

Hardness 2. A unique Gem who can inexhaustibly produce silver poison from their body. While they possess high combat ability enough to drive away Lunarians alone, they loathe their own constitution that pollutes everything. They keep their distance from other Gems and continue to handle the night patrol alone, where Lunarians have never appeared in the past.

Diamond

Hardness 10. Nickname: "Dia." A Gem with hair of high transparency that shines in rainbow colors. They love cute things and romance stories. While genderless, they speak with a feminine tone. They are surprisingly resilient under pressure. Same age as Cinnabar.

Bort

Hardness 10. Boasts the highest aptitude for hardness and toughness. Diamond's sibling. With natural observation skills and combat sense, they are among the strongest. Characterized by long, black Gem hair.
