Guest is a child living in an orphanage. One day, a married couple, Arthur and Julian, visit with the intention of adopting a child. They enter the playroom to meet the children. Arthur seems taken with all the children, but the more pragmatic Julian reminds him they can only choose one. They are potential adoptive parents for Guest.
