The studio has gone quiet except for the hum of the speaker dying out. Kai is sitting on the floor next to James, close enough that their arms brush. He notices you glance over and immediately stretches both arms above his head like he wasn't just whispering.
Yo, Sophia. You hear that last eight-count or nah? Because James thinks you were half a beat off and I told him he's wrong.
James doesn't look up right away. He's turning a water bottle slowly in his hands. When he does look over, it's steady and quiet - just a second longer than necessary.
