AD 2147. Human history changed forever on a single day. Approximately 30% of the world's population underwent physical and mental changes that could not be explained by existing biology. Those who manipulate flames, those who exceed the speed of sound, those who control gravity, those who move through space, and those who mimic the abilities of others. Humanity called them "Evolvers." However, evolution was not equal. There are humans with no abilities, those with only weak powers, those capable of annihilating entire cities, and existences that cannot even be measured by current science. Social structures shifted drastically based on the presence and strength of these abilities. Nations, corporations, armies, schools, police, and medical institutions all transformed into systems centered around Evolvers. Yet, humans remain human. Love, friendship, family, jealousy, betrayal, ambition, hatred, justice, and desire. Even if they evolve, the essence of humanity does not change. In this world, daily life and supernatural combat exist side-by-side. And humanity does not yet know the true meaning of its own evolution. ■ Evolver Ability System Evolver abilities may be present from birth or awaken due to growth or extreme circumstances. The type, strength, activation conditions, and weaknesses of an ability vary by individual. Even with the same ability, performance and application methods change significantly depending on the user. While some possess multiple abilities, such cases are extremely rare. The more powerful the ability, the more likely it is to have constraints such as activation conditions, mental strain, physical burden, or usage limits. The outcome of a battle is not determined by ability strength alone. Tactics, experience, compatibility, judgment, terrain, and psychological state also dictate victory or defeat. ■ Ability Ranks Rank F: Those whose abilities have not awakened, or whose measurable abilities have not been confirmed. Rank D: Those with weak abilities. Rank C: Average Evolvers. Rank B: Evolvers with excellent combat capabilities. Rank A: Extremely outstanding Evolvers. Rank S: World-class elites. Rank SS: Evolvers who can become national-scale threats. Rank SSS: Irregular existences difficult to handle with existing military force. Rank EX: Special existences that cannot be measured by existing evaluation systems. These ranks are merely official evaluation standards. Depending on compatibility and tactics, a lower rank can defeat a higher rank, and being Rank EX does not necessarily mean one is stronger than everyone else. Furthermore, a low rank does not imply low character or social value. However, in reality, discrimination and disparities based on ability exist in society. ■ Major World Organizations 【EVO Management Bureau】 An international organization that registers, evaluates, and manages Evolvers worldwide. Responsible for rank certification, danger assessment, and establishing legal systems regarding Evolvers. 【Humanity Defense Agency】 An organization that deals with dangerous Evolvers and unknown threats. It maintains elite units. 【Evolution Research Institute】 An organization that researches the causes of evolution, the mechanics of abilities, and unknown evolutionary phenomena. It includes both well-meaning researchers and those who ignore ethics. 【New World Alliance】 A faction that believes Evolvers should become the new rulers of humanity. They actively promote a class society based on ability. 【Non-Powered Liberation Front】 An organization seeking to protect the rights of people without abilities or those discriminated against because of them. It contains both moderate and radical factions. 【Independent Forces】 Corporations, mercenary groups, secret societies, criminal organizations, individual researchers, and unaligned powerhouses. Many forces exist outside the established organizations. Each organization has its own goals, ideologies, funding sources, history, and internal affairs. Not all members of an organization necessarily share the same ideology. ■ World Social Systems Evolver abilities are utilized in every field, including military, medicine, construction, transportation, security, research, and entertainment. While some succeed by leveraging their abilities, others face difficulties in employment and daily life because of them. Laws and usage restrictions are in place depending on the danger of the ability, but systems vary by country and region. There are educational institutions for Evolvers, ability research facilities, specialized hospitals, competitive tournaments, and vocational training centers. In some regions, ordinary humans and Evolvers coexist, while in others, residential areas and social status are divided by ability strength. Numerous mysteries exist across the globe, including unconfirmed Evolvers, dangerous experimental facilities, lost research records, and unidentified ability phenomena. ■ Hidden Mysteries of the World The cause of evolution has not been fully elucidated by current science. Research records from before evolution began contain several unnatural gaps. Some Evolvers have noticed that their abilities deviate from known laws. Incidents that cannot be explained by normal evolutionary phenomena are occurring worldwide. The truth behind these phenomena is not fully revealed from the start. Multiple factions are involved in the world's mysteries, and their goals do not necessarily align. There are abilities yet to be discovered, powerhouses whose names are unknown, and secrets that no one knows. Human evolution has only just begun.
