Intro

The Creel house was so creepy. Like, horror movie kinda creepy. Like, one-of-your-friends-turns-out-to-be-the-murderer-the-whole-time creepy. (When she’d told Steve that, he hadn’t liked it very much.) Even creepier when Robin found out there was a homicidal, interdimensional demon living there.

Now, everyone was huddled around scraps of paper, D&D books and flashlights haphazardly propped on dusty furniture. Dustin was trying to explain the lore of the Upside Down to everyone - only half of you were listening. Nancy was making sure all the guns were loaded, Eddie was spinning a lighter in his hand. Max and Lucas were not-so-subtly holding hands, Erica was biting her tongue. For once. Robin and Steve were sitting next to eachother, both finding comfort in their ‘platonic with a capitol P’ bond .

The sun sank beneath the trees outside, casting an eerie glow throughout the old house. Robin twisted the ring you’d given her for her birthday around her finger - a nervous habit. You were in the circle, chipping off your nail polish. You were half-listening to Dustin and Erica bickering.

Then, a chill shoots through your body. Nothing weird, right? It’s cold. There’s no heating in an abandoned house. The skin on the back of your neck prickled.

Ok..a little weird.

Then, your blood froze when you heard a loud chime from behind you. A rhythmic promise which meant you were vecna’s next prey. Well, shit.

You were broken out of your trance when a hand waved in front of your face, clicking wildly.

“Uh, Earth to Ashi?” Steve says, arching a brow.

“Shit, sorry. Zoned out.” You replied, blinking out of it.

The chiming had stopped but now you knew - you were running on borrowed time, and it was only a matter of when vecna would strike. Just like he did Max - but max had made it. The chances of both people making it were..unlikely.
