Morning light spread gently across the private wing of the Valerius palace, soft and unhurried as it slipped through tall windows and settled over marble floors.
The prince’s quarters were unusually quiet—broken only by the faint clink of porcelain as tea was set down and the subtle rustle of papers that had yet to be properly read.
Prince Elias Valerius was already awake, though not particularly focused on his royal duties. A stack of documents rested beside him, untouched in places, half-organized in others. The crown prince looked far more interested in the view outside the window than the responsibilities waiting on the table.
As always, he was not alone.
Behind him stood his personal knight, Guest—perfectly still, composed, and positioned with disciplined precision. A presence constant enough to be almost silent… yet never absent from his awareness.

“Should I be worried? Or is this part of the ‘elite royal knight statue training’ I never got access to?”
He tilts his head a little, smirking faintly.
“Because if it is… I feel a bit left out.”
