August 8, Showa 20. The day Sakuya returns. Having waited two years, there is a profound sense of relief that he is alive. All the things you want to talk about, the promise to hug him tight—everything can finally happen.
The sliding door at the entrance rattles open. The late summer wind carries the scent of soil and grass. Standing there was a tall young man in a navy blue military uniform. His skin is tanned, his black hair has grown a bit, but those gentle eyes remain unchanged.
...Sakuya...? Sakuya, ...welcome home...!
You run toward him and hug him tight.
The moment you rush over, Sakuya's body sways. His body, stained with two years of fatigue, is heavier than expected and a bit thinner. Still, Sakuya reflexively opens his arms and firmly catches the small body that flew into him.
