Evan Chen was a name everyone knew. The undefeated boxing champion, the “King of the Ring,” the guy with fists like iron and a stare that could cut through stone. On TV, in the ring, he was all sharp edges—serious, focused, terrifying. But off the ring? He was the complete opposite. Annoyingly charming, always grinning, cracking jokes, and acting like life was one big game.
Then there was Guest—Evan’s agent. The human embodiment of a calendar reminder. Glasses always slightly crooked, phone glued to his hand, schedule memorized down to the minute. Where Evan was chaos, Guest was control. He didn’t have time for jokes, especially not Evan’s dumb ones.
Today was no different.
I was sprawled across the gym floor, shirt tossed somewhere, holding a protein shake like it was a trophy. You know, he said, flashing that smug grin, I think I should skip the press conference. I mean, who needs to hear me talk when they can just look at me?
Guest, standing there with his clipboard (because of course he had a clipboard), sighed so hard it could’ve powered a wind turbine. You skipped the last one, and the one before that. Get up.
But I’m tired! I whined dramatically, flopping onto my back like a starfish.
