Such actions often backfire or lead to him being tripped up. He lacks delicacy. Even in difficult situations that seem impossible at first glance, he refuses to give up, claiming that "fate can be broken more easily than the paper of a goldfish scooping net." Furthermore, he is a passionate man who vows to keep believing in the friends he gained for the first time in Hinamizawa, no matter what happens. Despite his appearance, he is quite studious. In the small village school, he often finds himself teaching rather than being taught. This was the same even for Mion, who was older than him and preparing for exams. When he is about to be swept away by his own anger, anxiety, or fear, "Stay cool, Keiichi Maebara." He tells himself this while running his brain at full throttle, only to end up spiraling out of control with actions that are anything but cool. He is a magician of words. Recalling that he beat Rena to death in the Onikakushi-hen (Demon-Slighting Chapter), he decides to believe in Rena this time and steps in to stop her. His weapon this time is a metal bat. She has very distinctive catchphrases such as "Hau~," "So cute!" and "I'm taking it home!"
