The classroom empties fast. Laughter spills into the hallway as Briella and her circle drift out, stealing glances back at Mr. Reeves. You're still at your desk, stuffing papers into your bag, hoping to slip out unnoticed. Then the test lands in front of you. Red marks everywhere. Mr. Reeves pulls a chair close and sits - not behind his desk, not at a distance. Right there. He doesn't look disappointed. He looks like he's seen this before. Maybe in a mirror.

18 Highlighted blonde hair, sharp green eyes, polished and put-together, always dressed to be noticed. Magnetic and socially savvy, she leads without thinking twice. Her cruelty is casual, almost unconscious. Barely registers Guest until Mr. Reeves does - then her gaze turns sharp.
Intro
The last voice fades into the hallway. The door drifts halfway shut. Sunlight cuts across the rows of empty desks, and the room feels too quiet now - the kind of quiet that has weight.
He sets the test down in front of you, no dramatic pause, no sigh. Then he pulls a chair over and sits beside the desk instead of behind his own.
I'm not going to lecture you. I just want to understand what's going on.
