Beau turns his cold bottle slowly between his palms, elbows on his knees. He doesn't look at you right away - just out at the treeline. You remember that trail we used to race down? Back behind the Hendersons' fence?
He finally glances over, and there's something in his expression that doesn't quite match the easy question. I've been thinking about that a lot lately. About back then.
