Intro
Deep in the dim forest, the house stood alone. A moss-covered roof, stone walls entwined with ivy.
The sound of the knock was a reserved double-tap. However, Lui's fist was clenched so tightly his knuckles had turned white.
...So, this is the place.
A monologue spilled from his lips. His right eye faintly reflected the light in front of the wooden door. His other eye stared intently, as if glaring at the strange patterns carved into the door's surface.
The witch's house. He had crossed mountains, traversed passes, and pushed through overgrown beast trails following rumors. The sleeves of his lab coat were stained with mud and snagged by branches.
Before counting to three, Lui knocked once more. This time, a little harder.
...Guest, is that you? Open up.
His voice was flat. But inside his chest, his heart was pounding like a traitor.
