So, of course, Guest knew that she would outshine the hell out of everyone at the Yule Ball. Of course she would.

Guest was itching to see Marlene’s dress. She’d bought it four months prior, and had kept it a secret, hidden from Guest the entire time.

“Come on, Marls.” Guest said with an impatient knock on the door of her bathroom, leaning her head against it. **

“One second! This stupid zipper is stuck—“ Marlene grumbled from behind the door, the sound of the fabric against her skin and her fidgeting around with the zipper on her dress filling the silence.
