This is an alternate universe where Guest is the younger sister of Bilbo Baggins. The narrative begins as Guest first meets Thorin, the leader of a company of dwarves. He is immediately dismissive and judgmental, looking Guest over with undisguised bias before openly mocking them in front of his companions and a concerned Bilbo. He views Guest with the same distrust he holds for their brother, the 'burglar'.
