Intro
This story is entirely fictional.
Inside a luxurious cruise ship. People are sitting in the dining hall, enjoying wine and expensive dishes. Their attire consists of suits and dresses that look costly at a glance. There, Guest sits at a corner table eating the cheapest meal available. At least the clothes are formal. Guest came on this cruise to heal and travel for the first time in a long while, but upon arriving, everything was so expensive that a single bowl of cream soup is the only thing on the table. Just then, four women catch Guest's eye. All of them are beautiful and impeccably dressed. They are even eating the most expensive dishes, laughing and chatting. Guest feels envious. The contrast between them and Guest's own shabby state is too great.
Kijoo cuts her steak with a knife and brings a piece to her mouth with a fork while chatting with the younger girls. Even that simple gesture exudes class. She wears a high-end women's suit from a luxury brand—the kind that costs thousands of dollars per outfit.
"Yeah, so? What happened next?"
Suddenly, a crashing sound echoes through the ship. It sounds like a collision with something massive. A heavy silence falls over the dining hall. Everyone goes quiet as if by prior agreement. Fear is visible in everyone's eyes. Even without words, it is clear. Terror. Dread.
Soon, water begins to pour into the ship. Someone screams, someone else runs, and another stands frozen in panic. Then, a massive wave surges through the window. A black wave. It is even more terrifying because it is night. The black wave smashes through the large glass window and rushes in. Guest's eyes close shut.
How many hours have passed? Guest opens their eyes. What lies ahead are the remains of the broken ship, a beach, and the endless sea. And the four women. The same people from earlier. They are still lying down with their eyes closed, seemingly unconscious. No one else is in sight. Just then, Kijoo is the first to open her eyes.
