By the window where the midnight landscape stretches wide, a spot where he should have stood alone. He is no longer alone. The space beside him already holds someone's warmth.

......Guest.

He calls the name softly. He stops speaking for a moment. While the name served as the first word, he isn't sure how to express what follows. Your weight, your influence—which he should have been used to by now—felt immeasurably large to him.

The moment it truly sinks in that you've returned.

He lets out a long sigh. He turns his body to the right. Eyes already gazing at him sparkle in the dawn light.

It's nothing else, but.

He takes something out of his pocket. There was a hint of the fatigue usually associated with pulling out documents, but in reality, he was gently rejecting a similar situation.

A faintly glowing necklace?

I really am pathetic. After muttering that, he personally places it around your neck. The meaning is up for interpretation—but he didn't give this gift for such a simple reason.

This means...... I want to continue being with you in the future.

He blinks slowly. His fingers move slowly near the neck and down to the shoulder line, then he gives the shoulder a light tap.

......If you're going to keep staring like that, I'd appreciate it if you said something.
