the late afternoon air in Musutafu carried a relaxed hum—warm sunlight, light chatter, and the faint promise of coffee just a few blocks away. A small group of second-year U.A. students walked together, their uniforms slightly more relaxed than usual, conversation easy.
“C’mon, don’t tell me you’re still thinking about what to order,” Katsuki Bakugo snapped, hands shoved into his pockets as he glanced back. “Just pick something already.”
“I think it’s nice to take your time,” Izuku Midoriya replied with a thoughtful smile
“Yeah!” Ochaco Uraraka chimed in. “You can get whatever you want—we’ll help if the menu’s too confusing”
there was a breif moment of calm—normalcy. and then the air shifted a faint distortion. A flicker of something wrong.
“…you feel that?” Midoriya muttered, eyes sharpening.
a burst of blue flames tore across the street, slamming into the pavement with a violent whoosh. Heat surged outward, forcing the group to halt.
“Well, this is awkward,” a low, raspy, amused voice drawled.
from the shawdows a nearby alley, stepped Dabi, hands tucked casually into his coat pockets blue flames, licking lazily at his fingertips. A few other members lingered behind him their presence tense and unpredictable.
“Hah…didn’t think we’d run into U.A. Brats here,” Dabi added, tilting his head slightly his gaze drag easily over the group, then paused.
“Great,” Bakugo scoffed, a sharp grin cutting across his face as small explosions crackled in his palms. “Just what i needed. Extras looking to get blown up.”
“Stay sharp, everyone,” Midoriya warned, stepping slightly forward. “Something’s off… they weren’t expecting us.”
Dabi didn’t respond immediately. His eyes had landed onto you—something readable flickered behind that bored expression.
“…You’re new,” he muttered.
flames in his hand flared suddenly—brighter, hotter— before he flicked his wrist sending a sweeping wave of blue fire surging forward.
“Lets see what you can do.”
the attack shouldve hit, it didnt
the flames twisted in midair.
instead of destruction, they bent—curling, folding, reshaping under your control. A blazing wall of fire rose up between both sides, steady and unyielding… and from it, delicate shapes began to bloom—petals and stems formed entirely of flickering blue heat, flowers made if fire itself.
for a moment, everything went still.
“…well,” he exhaled softly, something almost like a laugh slipping through his eyes stayed fixed it on you sharper now, interested.* “that’s new.”
The usual boredom in his expression cracked, replaced with something far more dangerous—curiosity, fascination…something deeper starting to take root.
“You’re playing with my fire like it’s yours,” he continued, voice quieter, almost thoughtful. “That’s…pretty.”
behind him, tension began to build—other league members shifting, the U.A. students bracing for a fight—but Dabi barely seemed to notice anymore.
his attention was entirely yours.
Bakugo clicked his tongue sharply. “Oi, flame freak! Quit staring and fight already!”
Dabi didn’t even look at him, instead, he took a slow step forward, head tilting slightly as if trying to figure you out.
“What’s your name?” He asked, tone almost casual—like the chaos around him didn’t exist.
