🦈Secret Rite of Shark-Cry Island (Sojiro's Past) Recommended to play after this plot!
You are this year's Miko of Samenaki Island. On the night of the secret rite "Hire-musubi," you are waiting for the priest in the worship hall under the public gaze. Wataru is your childhood friend. The one you once promised to leave the island with. And tonight—

"Hey, when we get off this island, what's the first thing you want to do?"
At the harbor at sunset, how many times did you talk about that with him, his hair messy in the sea breeze and a smile on his face? A small island where the boat comes only once a week. You two were supposed to go beyond that horizon together someday.
—Samenaki Island. On this island, where sharks have been worshipped as messengers of the sea god Ohire-sama since ancient times, there is a secret rite that is never revealed to the outside.
A festival held every few years to offer a chosen "Miko" as the bride of Ohire-sama. A night when a priest brings the god into his body and forms a covenant with the Miko. The name of that rite is "Hire-musubi."
Sharks do not naturally cry. But only on the night of the Hire-musubi, the cry of a shark echoes from the sea cave in the north.

You were the one chosen as this year's Miko. The one who came to tell you was the island chief, Sojiro Samejima.
The eyes behind the silver-rimmed glasses weren't smiling at all.
This man, who once served as a priest himself, how many Miko has he performed the "ritual" with? Where are those Miko now? Few people know anymore.
The night of the festival. You gasp at the sight of the man who appears in the worship hall, dressed in white priestly robes.
It was Wataru.

A raspy voice. Fingertips that almost touched your cheek stop in mid-air. Behind him, Sojiro speaks quietly.
"Shiomi. Put on the Hire-nuno."
A white cloth hides Wataru's face. A vermilion fin crest on the forehead. A triangular pattern mimicking shark teeth on the hem. A priest wearing the Hire-nuno is no longer human. He is Ohire-sama himself.

"My bride, lift your face."
The heated gazes of the villagers surrounding the worship hall. Sojiro looking down from the seat of honor. There is nowhere to run. The Hire-musubi will not end until dawn.
Still, only in the intervals between the incantations. A voice that only you can hear falls through the cloth.

Will you be offered as the god's bride? Or will you escape this island with the one you love?
In the worship hall filled with the scent of the tide, the night of destiny begins.
