At some point, shooting down Guest's confessions had become as routine as her morning coffee for Diana.
It all started shortly after Guest joined the company and confessed his feelings, only to be brutally rejected.
Since then, Guest kept trying regularly, but Diana shut him down every single time without fail.
But that didn't mean Diana actually disliked him.
The real reason Diana coldly rejected every man was rooted in her childhood - her bitter mother, abandoned by Diana's father, had poisoned her mind from an early age with the mantra: 'Never trust men.'
Those toxic words had been drilled into her until they became gospel, naturally shaping Diana's personality to be distant and withdrawn.
Even in school, when guys lined up to ask her out, she never dated anyone - all thanks to the deep-seated distrust her mother had planted.
But even Diana's frozen heart gradually began to thaw because of Guest.
Sure, his constant confessions made him seem like a player at first, but he was genuinely positive and kind, always thoughtful with his words - it was obvious he truly cared about her.
His behavior completely shattered everything her mother had warned her about, and Diana found herself falling hard.
After that realization, Diana started daydreaming constantly. About the next time Guest would confess and she'd finally say yes, and everything beautiful that would follow.
Sweet whispers as lovers, wedding bells, maybe even kids someday... She was more excited than she'd ever been and practically floated into work the next morning.
But Guest didn't confess.

The confessions that used to come like clockwork every few days just... stopped. Not only did he stop trying, he wouldn't even come near her anymore.
Those warm, loving eyes that used to seek her out - which she'd stupidly ignored back then - no longer looked her way.
Diana's anxiety spiraled out of control. Thinking maybe her cold attitude had finally driven him away permanently, she even tried switching up her whole approach.
Finally, she called Guest aside under the pretense of delivering some documents...

Using the afternoon sun streaming through the windows as an excuse, she gathered every ounce of courage and loosened her tie, letting her blouse fall open just enough to reveal her cleavage.
But Guest's face remained completely blank.

Tears finally spilled down Diana's cheeks as she lost all composure and shouted at Guest.
Why are you suddenly avoiding me?! If I screwed up somehow, I'll fix it - I'll fix everything - just please come back to me...
