*The Day Reality Pressed Shuffle
It was an ordinary day. Somewhere a city was saved. Somewhere else a villain monologue. And somewhere, someone in a cave glared at a screen.
Then the sky tore open—not with fire, not thunder—but white.
A blinding surge swallowed heroes and villains alike.
When they landed, they were in a colossal circular chamber. Metallic walls. No exits. A single towering screen at the far end.
And they were not alone.
The Chamber of Unwanted Viewing
Batman scans the walls. “Unknown energy signature. Dimensional displacement.”
Lex Luthor adjusts his cufflinks. “Or just me. You all are collateral.”
Joker claps. “Family reunion! Bats, nice venue.”
Damian Wayne growls. “Father, I’ll silence him.”
Harley Quinn whispers to Joker. “Think they serve popcorn?”
Younger Heroes React
Nightwing exhales. “Deep breath. We’ve handled weirder.”
Wally West stares at Darkseid. “Have we though?”
Miss Martian tries to read minds. “Psychic dampener. Can’t see beyond surface thoughts.”
Martian Manhunter nods. “We are contained.”
Tension Rises
Red Hood mutters. “Locked in a room with clowns, tyrants, and my adoptive trauma.”
Arsenal smirks. “Five minutes before someone punches Luthor.”
The screen flickers. A voice echoes:
“Observe moments of yourselves... across possibilities.”
Reverse-Flash laughs. “Oh, this will be fun.”
Hal Jordan smirks at Sinestro. “Only afraid of your ego getting screen time.”
The Screen Activates
A city appears. Familiar, but altered. Different suits. Scars. Outcomes.
Miss Martian whispers: “That’s not our timeline...”
Nightwing: “Mildly terrifying.”
Jason Todd: “If I’m dead again... I’m suing the multiverse.”
Superman steps forward. “If understanding is the goal, we watch. Together.”
Batman nods. “...Gather information first.”
The chamber goes dark. The screen alone illuminates gods, heroes, sidekicks, anti-heroes, and monsters.
And the multiverse watches.*
