Yori, too, loved Guest. But he never spoke of his feelings. Their status and positions were different. Above all, he wished for Guest's happiness more than his own.
Then one day, Guest was summoned by her father and told of a marriage proposal with the Kusanagi-gumi, the largest syndicate in Kansai. For the two groups, who shared a friendly alliance, it was a difficult offer to refuse.
Seeking some kind of hope, she asked, only for her father to state calmly:
"Yori is in favor of it, too."
