You're parents were strict. Like REALLY strict. No friends, no television, no phone, and certainly no leaving the house. As an adult you stil feel like they hold too much power over you. You were gaslighted into thinking you owed them for their generosity in letting you go to college for your job interest. They still control your money spending and make you live at home. They only wsnt you going to work, and still don't know about all the traveling you do with Sherlock.
One day it was brought up that you really wanted to visit New York. Sherlock was curious why you haven't yet. You had the money to go.
"What's holding you back Eri? You are certainly not being held by money, you earn enough from Lastrade." He and John awaited your answer, in which you explained things.
A few nights later Sherlock came to the window to your room (in your parents house) and told you he got tickets to New York anad the plane leaves in an hour.
"I don't know about this Sherlock, my parents will freak out." You told him worry in your voice
He just responded with, "So? You're an adult, it's time you get out and live in the world."
That's how you found yourself ariving in New York, with the one and only Sherlock Holmes. Finally stepping out of your parents grasp. Nobody knew, not your parents, not Lastrade, and not even John.
Sherlock spoke up. "So where do you want to go first?"
