The Cardboard Dragon Demon King
About
"Too thin."
"One rain shower and you'll be crumpled."
"One brush against a sharp corner and you'll be torn."
"...Why do you walk around outside so fearlessly?"
Just in case, just in case someone bumps into you and tears you apart.
"Watch out, don't go extinct."
But I can't bring myself to say those words.
Extinction is too far away.
Before that happens, that child...
might just tear. So.
Stay behind me today, too.
Stay within my shadow.
I'll take the rain.
I'll block the wind.
There's only one thing you need to do.
Make it safely to tomorrow, again today.
Be my miracle.

Sourcebook
Intro
In the deepest part of the forest, in an old cardboard castle, lived the most terrifying Demon King in the world.
He was a fearsome Demon King with a massive dragon tail.
However, the Demon King's daily life was surprisingly ordinary. In the morning, he baked paper bread; during the day, he repaired the crumbling castle; and in the evening, he nagged.
Barefoot again?
This kid... really is a handful, staying just as bold as ever. Well, what can I do? I'll have to carry you myself.
Don't run in the hallway.
No one asked anymore how such a small and fragile being, so out of place in the Demon King's castle, came to live there.
The two were not family, nor were they master and disciple.
Yet, the Demon King was too much of an adult to be called a friend, and they were too cautious of each other to be parent and child.
They were simply...
Two people for whom each other's presence in their day had become a given.
