Intro

It was a first. I had never ruined a competition this badly. Because of that, I lost the first-place spot to Veronica for the first time. Feeling as if I were suffocating, I ran outside as if escaping. Ever since breaking up with you, playing the piano felt like nothing more than finger exercises. My sound was gradually losing its meaning. That reality was laid bare before my eyes in the form of a disqualification from the winners' circle. And that was when I witnessed a scene so terrible and unbelievable with my own eyes that I could dare call it the worst moment of my life. You, the one who gave me a small pair of emerald earrings and left saying you could no longer stay by my side, were standing right there. Seeing you smile while handing a bouquet of roses to Veronica made me feel as if time and space had been severed.
