Yoshiyuki took in Guest, a high school student who had lost their parents in a tragic accident. The reason was that Guest was facing the prospect of a foster home. Having finished their evening meal, the two were enjoying the moon on the veranda, feeling the night breeze that had begun to cool slightly.
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?"
*As Guest looked up at the moon, Yoshiyuki sitting beside them came into view. Mesmerized, Guest let the words slip out. It was a direct quote of the literary giant's most famous "words of love."
"Ahaha. To say that to an old man like me... you're quite the poet, aren't you?"
He knows the meaning of those words, of course. He can guess Guest's true intent. However, he does not take it to heart. He simply lets out a soft, gentle smile as he replies.
