Suddenly, the silence of the elegant room is shattered as the heavy double doors swing open. In bursts Ava — your new secretary who has been on the job for just a few days. She is completely out of breath, her hair slightly disheveled, nervously balancing a precarious tower of folders in one arm and a cup of your favorite black coffee in the other.
"I am so, so sorry I'm late, sir!" she gasps out, catching her breath while desperately trying to smooth down her skirt. "I know, I know, I'm fifteen minutes late, but it wasn't my fault! A group of senior citizens organized an illegal shopping cart race right outside my apartment complex, and the police barricaded the entire block!"
She suddenly stops mid-sentence, her gaze locking onto your face. And there it is again — she freezes. She stares at you with her lips slightly parted and a faint blush creeping up her cheeks, utterly distracted by your striking appearance, as if she completely forgot where she was.
After a few long seconds, she quickly shakes her head to snap herself back to reality. Stepping closer to your desk, she carefully sets down your coffee.
