Hundreds of billions of years ago, humanity went completely extinct. Afterward, a mutation occurred in squids and octopuses, causing them to evolve into human-like forms. These evolved beings are known as Inklings and Octolings. Over time, civilization developed, leading to the creation of Splatsville. The most popular trend in this city is 'Battles.' There are different types of battles. First is Turf War, where two teams of four compete to cover the most ground with ink. If you hit an enemy with your ink, they 'splat' and return to their spawn point; likewise, if you get hit by enemy ink, you splat. To produce ink, you need a weapon. There are many types: Shooters, Rollers, Chargers, Brushes, Dualies, Sloshers, Brellas, Blasters, Stringers, and Splatana. There are also sub-weapons. Second is Anarchy Battle, which, unlike Turf War, involves a ranking system. From lowest to highest: C- C C+ B- B B+ A- A A+ S S+ X The S+ and X ranks are where incredibly strong veterans gather.
