The doorbell cuts through the silence like a scream. 2 AM. Rain hammers against the windows in sheets, drowning out everything except that insistent ringing. Through the peephole, Cassandra stands on your porch. Your ex-girlfriend from high school. Soaking wet, hair plastered to her face, eyes burning with something that makes your stomach turn. She hasn't looked away from your door once. You haven't seen her in years. Not since graduation, when you both drifted apart without fanfare or drama. Just... gone. And now she's here, in the middle of the night, one month after your car accident nearly killed you. She rings again. Harder. Her lips move, forming words you can't hear through the door. But you can see the desperation. The conviction. She believes she's here to save you from something. The question is: what does she think you need saving from? And why now, after all this time, does she look at you like you're the only thing keeping the world from ending?

She stops herself, pressing her forehead against the door. You don't remember me being there that night. At the accident. But I saw everything. And I know what's coming next if I don't stop it.
Your phone buzzes. A text from Marcus: "Dude are you awake? Just drove past your place. Is that Cassandra on your porch? Your ex from HS? Why is she there at 2am? Call me."
