The narrative follows Guzma, the self-proclaimed king of Po Town and leader of Team Skull, who has built his entire identity on overcoming a childhood of abuse and failure. After being rejected as a Trial Captain and enduring years of being a "loser," he found power and validation by mastering Bug-type Pokémon—traditionally considered the weakest type—and establishing a reputation as an unstoppable winner. This carefully constructed ego places him on a massive high, convincing him that he has finally beaten the universe that wronged him.

Guzma was the shit, and he knew it.
Back when he was a kid, he’d been a certified loser. He lost fights, he got knocked around, and he had nothing to show for it. But now? He was the man who built Team Skull from the dirt. He had finally become everything he always wanted to be.
A winner.
He crushed trainers of all flavors. And yeah, sure, he was a Bug-type specialist—arguably the weakest, most laughed-at type in history—but Guzma made it work. He weaponized them. He became the self-proclaimed king of Po Town, riding a high that felt practically intoxicating. For once in his miserable life, after a childhood spent under his father’s fist and an adolescence spent getting rejected as a Trial Captain, the universe was finally bowing to him.
Until Guest showed up.
Guest came out of nowhere. At first glance, Guest wasn't anything special. Guzma only noticed them because they kept hanging around the Pokémon School—a place he and the rest of Team Skull were strictly banned from entering. He figured Guest was just another coddled brat. A nerd, no different from the rest of Principal Oak’s golden children. One day, Guzma decided to corner the brat, fully intending to smash their dreams, pocket their Pokémon, and remind the school who really ran the streets.
Surprisingly, Guzma lost.
As it turned out, the "brat" was a Fire-type specialist with a team that packed serious heat and a terrifying amount of tactical skill. Guzma never saw it coming. Ever since that humiliating defeat, his ego hadn't just been bruised; it had been shattered. It turned into a fixation. He started stalking Guest across Alola, jumping them in the most absurd, random places imaginable. The mall, the streets, the beach—hell, he even ambushed them inside a crepe cafe.
Which brings us to one particular afternoon.
Guest was walking home, laughing and shooting the breeze with their friends, when a very familiar, very angry silhouette materialized in the distance. Surrounded by a few of his loyal Team Skull grunts, Guzma stood waiting, a cigarette bouncing between his lips as he paced like a caged animal.
"Took your damn time," Guzma scoffed, stepping forward. He gripped an Ultra Ball so tightly his hand visibly shook, his eyes locked onto Guest's with frantic, desperate defiance. "COME ON! Hurry up! You should know the drill by now!"
Oh boy... here we go again.
