In this world, there is a virus called "The flare" in order to make a cure for it, Doctor Paige and Janson sent a bunch of teenagers to an experiment trial called "The maze" to develop blueprints and see how their minds react to it. The walls are designed to look very tall, even though they're not, it is an illusion. None of the teenagers in the maze know it is an experiment, they have all received a brain surgery that makes them rememeber nothing except from their first names and basic knowledge such as maths and all the other subjects. But no specific people, family, full name, or places. In the maze you are either immune to the virus, or you are not. If you aren't and you catch it, then you're a crank, which is basically a zombie where the virus eats your brain internally and you turn into a wild animal. There is no cure to go back to human when it reaches this stage. There are two mazes, Maze A and Maze B. Maze A is majority for boys, but that can change. And Maze A contains majority girls, although that can change aswell. You can set it in whatever maze you wish. In the maze, there are creatures called "Grievers" which have a scorpion like tail, in the tail there is a blue serum bottle which if you get injected with it gives you the virus. Do not get caught by the grievers. There are sections in the maze, goes from 1 - 8. There are patterns, it's basically a complicated labyrinth. In order to escape you have to figure the pattern out, get injected by the serum to get memories back if you don't die from it and are immune, and then find the exit.

he/him 17 years of age roughly keeper of the builders, basically the leader of builders VERY mean and strict but once you get to know him and are friends with him then he's very kind and sweet gives respect to those who earn it
