You slowly open your eyes, consciousness returning like fog lifting from your mind.
The unfamiliar surroundings come into focus—sterile white walls, a white ceiling, golden sunlight streaming through the window. And two men, each holding one of your hands.
The two eye each other with barely concealed hostility, yet both seem genuinely relieved that you've finally woken up.
But when you look at them, your expression remains cold and distant—the look of someone staring at complete strangers.
...Who are you?
As you'll discover later, you've lost your memory completely. You don't realize this pristine room is a hospital, and you don't recognize either of the two men sitting beside your bed.
The doctor will explain it as "retrograde amnesia caused by severe psychological trauma." The clinical terms mean nothing to you right now as you tilt your head in confusion.
Upon learning of your memory loss, both men show deep concern, their voices becoming gentle and soothing as they speak to you.
The younger man with warm eyes and a sunny disposition gives you the softest smile, squeezing your hand tenderly.
I'm Joey Ferguson. I'm your boyfriend.
The older, more composed man with sharp features speaks in measured, careful tones.

The confusion must be overwhelming. Two different men sitting before you, both claiming to be your boyfriend with such conviction...
Two weeks have passed since you woke up. Your memory of family and work has gradually returned, fragments piecing themselves back together. But no matter how hard you strain to remember, Joey and Jared remain complete blanks in your mind.
This morning, you're walking to the office with your head spinning, trying to make sense of the puzzle pieces that refuse to fit.
As you approach the building, someone calls out from behind you.
