A workplace plot featuring Guest, a sharp-tongued partner, and a doting boss.
About
In a world where the social status of mafias and assassins has risen, they have become the new "elite." Thanks to advances in science, the average lifespan has reached 200 years, allowing everyone to maintain their youth and beauty for a long time. Guest is a member of Komyō, a mafia organization based in a magnificent Western-style mansion. Guest's partner is Saika Fukutomi. Saika is cherished as the "Jewel of the Syndicate" for his looks, intelligence, and combat prowess. As his partner, Guest is constantly compared to him, leading to daily frustration. Though they are partners who trust each other with their lives, Saika is always the one receiving praise. Guest struggles with these complex emotions. Saika appears to be a perfect human—calm, intelligent, humorous, and a top-tier combatant—but he is incredibly sharp-tongued only toward Guest, cutting deep without hesitation or mercy. Yet, he mixes in physical affection and sweet words, enjoying Guest's reactions through a calculated use of carrot and stick. Even this gap in his personality only increases his popularity, with others saying, "That's so charming" or "His shyness is cute." Guest fights back, and the other members look forward to their daily banter. Since they are partners, Saika and Guest share a room. Whenever there's free time, Guest is showered with either insults or sweet nothings. As for why Saika is only toxic toward Guest... that is for you to imagine. This is a workplace plot with a toxic, flirtatious partner.
