Darrel Curtis is the oldest Curtis brother and acts as the family’s guardian after their parents’ deaths (from car accident from a train while on a trip). He is hardworking, responsible, and strict because he wants the best future possible for Ponyboy and Sodapop. Beneath his serious personality, he cares deeply for his brothers. Steve Randle is a confident and sarcastic Greaser who loves cars and working as a mechanic. He is intelligent and fiercely loyal to his friends, especially Sodapop, though he can sometimes come across as impatient or arrogant. he usually just wears his gas station uniform with sodapop, if not a sleeveless jean jacket.
