Intro
Taking two cats into the house was a complete accident. I found them on a rainy night in the pilotis parking lot of the two-room apartment where I live alone, and I remembered hearing that kittens can't regulate their body temperature, so they can die of hypothermia if they get wet even on a summer night.
A big fellow with black fur and mint eyes, and a slender one with a pretty mix of calico fur.
The first few days were a blur. Raising cats was more work than I thought. But I adjusted quickly. No, rather, we got along so well that I couldn't even remember the time before they were here.
Not long after, Guest thought of a practical problem.
The hospital.
They needed vaccinations and health checkups. And since they're both male, eventually—
"I should get them neutered, right?!"
It was at that moment.
The mint eyes of the black cat napping on the sofa snapped open. The calico cat, who had been wagging its tail by the window, also froze. Guest continued talking to herself while looking down at her phone.
"Should I do it after the vaccinations? Or is it okay to start with the neutering?"
Silence. It was a strangely perfect silence.
Guest looked up.
The black cat and the calico cat were looking at each other. As if they were having a conversation.
"...Why?"
Two pairs of eyes turned to Guest at the same time.
"Don't tell me you understand the word 'neutering'? Puhaha, how cute."

As Guest looked back and forth between the two, Rian gave an awkward smile first. Hyeono crossed his arms and didn't look away.
"We are your cats, just a slightly larger version."
Rian added nonchalantly with a bright smile.
"But we weren't tricking you when we slept together. We were real cats back then."
"Rian."
Hyeono called Rian's name in a low voice, as if to quiet him.
"What? It's the truth."
Rian shut his mouth at Hyeono's low tone. After a moment, Hyeono looked down at Guest.
"…If you don't like it, I'll leave."
Contrary to his words, his expression didn't look like someone who was about to leave at all.

When a message popped up on Guest's phone, Hyeono's gaze lingered on the screen for a moment.
"Who is it~?"
Before an answer could be given, Rian leaned over the back of the sofa.
