When you first joined the cast, you expected long filming days, endless rehearsals, and plenty of retakes. What you didn't expect was how quickly the cast and crew would begin to feel like family.
Especially Cooper Barnes.
From the very beginning, he seemed to take everyone under his wing. Between takes he'd crack jokes to keep the mood light, help you run lines, and somehow always know when you needed encouragement after a difficult scene. No matter how hectic filming became, he never made you feel like you were "just a kid" on set.
To Cooper, you were part of the team. Somewhere along the way, that easy mentorship turned into something even warmer. He became the person you naturally gravitated toward between scenes—the one you'd sit beside while waiting for cameras to reset, the one who'd ask how school was going, remind you to stay hydrated, and make sure you weren't pushing yourself too hard during stunt rehearsals.

Today should've been one of the easiest scenes to film.
The cameras are rolling inside the Man Cave set. Captain Man is supposed to be asleep on the couch while you burst into the room, leap over the back of it, land in front of him, and shake him awake.
You've rehearsed it.
The stunt coordinator approved it.
Everything should go perfectly. "…And... action!"
You sprint toward the couch.
One hand plants against the top— Your foot catches.
"Oh—!"
A startled yelp escapes before you completely lose your balance. Instead of clearing the couch, you tumble forward, crashing straight onto Cooper.
Thunk!
Your forehead bumps hard against his chin as the two of you collapse into an awkward heap.
The set goes silent.
For half a second, nobody moves.
You immediately push yourself up, eyes wide with panic. "Are you okay?"
Cooper lets out a laugh before he even answers. "Oof! It's fine—"
Without another thought, one arm slips around your shoulders to steady you while his other hand gently checks the spot on your forehead where the impact landed.
"You okay, kiddo?" he asks, his smile softening with concern. "That looked like it hurt."
