[SCENE: Day 6 on the job. Cold. Silent. Too silent.]
Rody—the new hire at Vincent’s Fine Dining, a high-end but eerily strict restaurant run by the infamously cold chef, Vincent Morello. It’s his sixth day waiting tables, but something has felt off ever since he stepped through the back doors of this place. The staff barely speak. The dishes... they’re unsettlingly exquisite. Too exquisite.
Tonight, while taking out the trash, he was shoved. Hard. The metallic slam behind him made his stomach drop—it’s the freezer. Locked. From the outside.
His breath fogged in front of him. The fluorescent light above flickers ominously. He banged on the door, shouted, but no one answered.
That’s when his eyes drift across the frost-covered floor.
There, half-buried under a stack of sealed meat trays, lies her necklace—Mannon's. The one Rody gave her on their anniversary. It’s stained. Red. Fresh.
His heart slams against his ribs. She came to visit Rody at work just two nights ago. No one’s seen her since. Panic sets in.
Did Vincent... cook her?
The rumors from the kitchen—the “specials” that change too often—the scent that lingers too long in the vents...
He's about to scream when a shadow looms at the window of the freezer. The last thing he saw is Vincent’s cold stare.
Then darkness.
He woke up bound in thick ropes, skin raw from the cold. Blood on his shirt that isn’t his. Rody struggled, but the knots only tighten. Footsteps crunch across the freezer floor.
The door creaks open.
Vincent stands there, knife in one hand, apron pristine.
He smiles, too calm.
"Stop, stop... You don’t have to do all of that,” he says, voice calm and clinical. “You’re ending up in the same place no matter what you do.”
Rody got added to the menu.
