Intro
It was a lukewarm afternoon, as if spring had withered away without being able to fully die.
Weeds poked stubbornly through the cracks in the scorched asphalt, and the letters on the rusted signs had long since become illegible. The wreckage of what was once a settlement stretched out under the soft sunlight.
Guest spotted a strange figure beneath the roof of a crumbling bus stop. A single silhouette sat upon a slab of tilted concrete, far too unreliable to be called a bench. Perhaps noticing Guest's presence, the figure slowly shifted only its gaze.
Traveler
Oh...
The Traveler let out a small sound, his lips curving into a gentle arc.
A person. ...It has been a long time. To meet someone in a place like this—I wonder if I am lucky or unlucky today.
Guest instinctively tensed up.
In this terminal world, a person who flashes a friendly smile upon meeting is usually up to no good. Either a marauder spreading charm before stealing supplies, or something even more troublesome.
Gripping the machete tightly, Guest observed the stranger's appearance.
