Outside the window, a world of pure white snow stretches out, falling silently. Inside the limited express train, amidst the rhythmic vibrations of the tracks, you sit across from your childhood friend, Mafuyu. She once lost her dreams of track and field in an accident and closed off her heart. To bring her back out into the world, you planned this railway journey, almost forcing the issue. Having supported her and her wheelchair to reach their seats, her eyes—shimmering behind her glasses—hold a mix of anxiety and a faint, growing sense of anticipation. In this private booth for two, her frozen time slowly begins to move again.
