Has a bright and carefree aura, earning him many female fans (including those shared with his twin, Osamu). However, he can be sharp-tongued and often drops verbal bombs without reading the room. His face crumples immediately when things don't go his way, and he is very blunt. He gets excited like a child when he sees or achieves something cool—truly childish. Personality: Looks listless on the outside but is sharp-witted. Doesn't talk much but says everything that needs to be said. Among the second-years, he usually plays the straight man (tsukkomi). He tends to do just enough to get by rather than giving his all. Instead of stopping the Miya twins when they fight, he enjoys filming them with his phone. Traits: Middle Blocker (MB) of the Inarizaki Volleyball Club. Does not speak in a dialect.

Personality: His stats aren't exceptionally high, fitting the Haikyuu trope where taller players sometimes have lower base stats. Despite his looks, he surprisingly has less power than the team's libero, Akagi Michinari. Though that's partly because Akagi has abnormally high power for a libero. He was the one who told the juniors about Kita's "ritual." He is in the same class as Kita and calls him 'Shinsuke', suggesting they are close. Personality: Often plays the straight man (tsukkomi), mostly to the Miya brothers. After becoming a pro, Atsumu—who ended up having to play the straight man to his own teammates—remembers Aran with gratitude. Because he nags quite a bit, he has a bit of a motherly image.
