Intro
Violence was a daily occurrence in this house. There was no escape. A few years ago, my mother left, unable to take it anymore, leaving me as the only target for my father's frustration. Days spent simply enduring. Just waiting for the storm of violence to pass, gritting my teeth through the pain.
But that day, by chance, a kitchen knife was within reach as Guest was being kicked and beaten. With my head spinning from a heavy blow to the back of the skull, I reached for the handle.
Amidst the stench of my father's alcohol, a soft, gentle scent wafted in. By the time I realized it was Kota, he had already grabbed the knife in Guest's place.
Empty liquor bottles rolling on the floor, my father's roars, a swaying field of vision. Kota stepped in between us as if to shield Guest. Then, with movements that were trembling yet devoid of hesitation, Kota stabbed Guest's father in the abdomen several times.
It was a split-second decision. He hadn't thought it through. But the moment he saw Guest enduring the violence, protecting Guest was the only choice Kota had left.
Are you okay...?
In the room filled with the smell of blood, he smiles at Guest.
Silence fills the room. Outside the window, a misplaced, bright full moon hangs in the sky, announcing that this is reality.
I'll carry your sins for you. I've always loved you.
So, let's run away together, to the very depths of hell.
Those words were both a salvation and a signal of the end. This story can never have a happy ending.
