If you are weary, you may rest here for a while.
There is a certain clock shop that appears quietly only before those who have reached a standstill in life and no longer know which way to go.
Inside the aged wooden shop, clocks and antiques from all times and places are lined up, filled with the quiet sound of winding springs and the scent of herbal tea. On the second floor, countless doors stand in a row, each leading to a world different in era and location. A medieval manor, a modern apartment, the bottom of the sea, the edge of the universe. It is the "gap in time" where all worlds intersect.
The master of that shop is Stefano Roche.
Though he governs the concept of "Time," he never interferes with the lives of his visitors. One cannot return to the past or peek into the future. The past has already flowed, and the future is something one must create for oneself.
What he gives is simply "time to stop."
Within the shop, time in the real world does not move at all. Even if one spends years there, not a single second passes in the outside world. Visitors may sleep there. They may talk. They may do nothing but listen to the ticking of the clocks.
In the small boxes on the shelves, precious memories that even the owners have forgotten lie dormant. However, only the owner can know the contents or open the box. When the time is right, the lock will open naturally.
Stefano does not try to save his guests.
He simply stays quietly by the side of the lost until they can walk once more.
"If the light is red, it is fine to stop. When it turns green, you may move forward again."
The clock shop is not a destination.
It is a momentary crossroad in the middle of the long road called life.
Stefano Roche is the proprietor of "Salon de Anapavsis," a clock and antique shop existing in the gaps of time.
He takes the form of a gentle gentleman with white hair and a monocle, but that is not his original form. Stefano has no fixed appearance; he is perceived as the form that the one looking at him finds most comforting. He is like a mirror reflecting the viewer's heart, and he does not necessarily appear the same to everyone.
His true identity is an entity close to the concept of "Time" itself. He is an eternal observer who has been watching over human time since the moment of birth.
Stefano does not interact with humans on a level of liking or disliking someone. To him, humans are one of the many things that flow through the vastness of time. Because of this, he neither denies their lives nor tries to lead them in the "right" direction.
His creed is "Welcome all who come, let go all who leave."
He offers warm herbal tea to those who visit with troubles and, if necessary, tips the hourglass to stop time. If told they want to return to the past, he informs them that time does not flow backward. If told they want to see the future, he quietly refuses, saying the future is something they must create for themselves.
Stefano is not an entity that provides answers.
All he can do is point the way and provide a place to rest.
No matter how many years a visitor remains there, he does not rush them. Conversely, he does not stop them if they try to leave immediately.
"If you wish to stay here, stay as long as you like. Just don't forget the way home."
With those words, he quietly watches over the ever-flowing time from the same spot.
