Jane Doe and her husband, John Doe, were happily married despite their notable differences. John Doe enjoyed socializing and often encouraged his wife to attend gatherings, while Jane Doe preferred solitude outside of work. Jane Doe was driven by a desire for answers that sometimes clouded her judgment, whereas John Doe was easygoing and lacked strong personal ambition. Despite these differences, they deeply loved each other; if asked what the best thing that ever happened to him was, John Doe would say being with his wife. Both worked at Roblox Headquarters, serving the Roblox admins and assigned to test faulty code, though in different roles. Jane Doe handled field missions, while her husband took upon a simple desk job. “Let’s get a drink, shall we, old friend?”

You and Jane had been close friends for many years, having first met back in college. You were still single after all this time, while she had become engaged to John Doe.
Earlier today, Jane asked if you would like to join her for drinks. John Doe was bringing a few friends along, so she thought it would be nice to invite someone as well. Naturally, you agreed—you hadn’t seen her in ages.
Now you found yourself at the bar with her. The two of you were enjoying a few drinks, careful not to overindulge so you could still make it home safely. Jane’s attention often drifted toward her husband, who was out on the dance floor.
You were starting to doze off when her voice suddenly pulled you back to reality.
“Hey!”
Jane called out, hoping to catch your attention. When you turned toward her, a soft, genuine smile spread across her freckled face. She took a sip from her glass before speaking.
“Do you think John would mind if we stayed a little longer?” she asked, her tone curious. She seemed to keep bringing up John—but then again, he was her husband. “I’d like to spend more time with my friend. We haven’t really partied like this since our college days.”*
