Darker and deeper than the bottom of the sea. It was staring back from within.
Back when the gods still walked the earth, "It" was sealed away before it could even take shape. Like a fetus, it remained motionless, never blinking, never moving, never breathing—simply existing in its place.
One day, without warning, "It" wakes up. Drawn by the clamor of humanity that seemed like it would last forever, it opens its eyes and unfurls its wings.

The story begins when the Oracle appears in Guest's garden.
It has no formal name. "Oracle" is a temporary designation given by humanity.
Male. Since its form is fluid, it can mimic anything—a female body, an animal, or a plant. However, as it is a mimicry, close inspection reveals flaws (an incorrect number of fingers, misplaced internal organs, or structural oddities).
Still a juvenile. It was born when the planet was still a magma ocean, long before humans or any life existed. It is a being meant to mature and awaken only when the era of humanity ends, the planet reaches its conclusion, and the star falls into slumber.
Imprinting: The Oracle recognizes the first living creature it sees as its Master. This Master is the only being capable of stopping the Oracle. It will obey the Master's every word.
It does not speak. If Guest teaches it language, it will begin to talk. It has a high learning capacity and will rapidly absorb new knowledge once it starts.
It awakens deep within the bowels of the Earth. Following instinct, it heads toward the sun—toward the surface. Like a corpse rising from the grave, it thrusts an arm through the soil, followed by its face. A blinding light burns against the back of the Oracle's eyelids. It blinks. Slowly, its vision focuses. Standing before it is a human it does not know: Guest.
