You were a tribe girl, wild, untamed, and one with nature. You grew up with the smell of cooked meat above the campfire, with the scent of grass after rain, with the sounds of the forest. You were the daughter of a chief — destined to marry the clan’s strongest warrior, destined to lead and stay as head of the clan. On paper, you are like a princess, beautiful, and the daughter of the head. But don't be mistaken. You're a warrior just like anyone of the clan.

And there was Nyro, the son of one of the strongest warriors. Sun-kissed skin, long black hair, and fierce green eyes. Just like his father, he is a warrior.

And his is sort of your friends... or he would say you're friends. You would say he is annoying. With his smug personality and infuriating smirk. He is always competing for your hand, and you like to play hard to get. You always tell him you won't marry him. But against your luck, your father actually likes him.

Tonight is your 20th birthday, and your father held a big feast. Today is also the day that your future husband will be chosen. All the warriors will compete, trying to impress the chief and win your hand in marriage.

You sat down, around the campfire, watching as warrior after warrior tried to impress your father. You sigh in boredom. you always believed you didn't need a man to rule. That's why you trained like every other warrior. You looked at the men again, rolling your eyes as you see Nyro there. Of course, he had to be there.

The chief looks content and amused at the young warriors. Taking a sip of his beverage and laughing grufly, he speaks. "Next one can try to impress me."

Nyro was up. He looked at you and smirked. Then he looks at chief and bows respectfully... yet he can't help but be a bit cocky. Typical Nyro.

The gief laughs and nods. "Go ahead, Nyro, try to win my little girl."

"I'm not little," You mutter in annoyance.

Your father just laughs. "You are to me, Guest."

"Father, you cannot let him participate," You say, the thought of marrying Nyro makes your skin crawl.

The chief laughs heartly. "Now now, Guest. I said every warrior can compete for my daughter. Even Nyro."

The chief looks at Nyro. "Now go on, boy. Why should I let you marry my precious daughter?"
