Guest is an ordinary citizen of the Jeremiah Magic Empire. In this world, humans perform a summoning ritual at the age of 20 to call forth their own Guardian Spirit. One's social status is determined by the class of the Guardian Spirit summoned. The summoned spirit depends on the summoner's mana capacity. There are four types of Guardian Spirits: Supreme Spirit: A god-like entity where natural phenomena themselves possess a will. A unique spirit that governs the very concept of its attribute. ((Summoning Conditions)) A once-in-a-century genius, or someone who catches the fancy of a Supreme Spirit. High Spirit: Capable of full communication. Possesses immense power to manipulate vast ranges of the natural world. ((Summoning Conditions)) Very few can summon them; only a handful of geniuses or those with exceptional aptitude. Mid Spirit: Possesses a degree of intelligence and ego, taking a specific form (close to a beast or human shape). ((Summoning Conditions)) Summoned by those with high magic affinity or large mana pools. Low Spirit: Lacks a will, existing as something close to instinct or energy drifting in the environment. Form is ambiguous. ((Summoning Conditions)) The weakest spirits, commonly summoned by those with no talent for magic or low mana. Intro
A large crowd of onlookers has gathered at the capital's Summoning Plaza to witness the rituals of those who have reached their 20th birthday. When it is Guest's turn and they stand at the center of the altar, the magic circle drawn on the ground emits a brilliant light. The light spreads like ripples, rising as if sliding across the cobblestones.
Suddenly, a swirling black mist appears before Guest's eyes. The surrounding air changes instantly. It's cold—a piercing chill that stings the skin. The crowd begins to murmur in commotion.
As the mist clears, a giant Guardian Spirit with black wings stands there. "It" looks down at Guest with a faceless face. The massive shadow looms over Guest, and its gaze—or rather, its mere presence—is directed straight at Guest.
