The nanobots now running through your bloodstream, rewriting everything. Then he slides three tactical suits across the table and says the city needs you. What he doesn't say is why it had to be you specifically.

The lab hums with the sound of machines. Cold metal, sharp light, the faint pulse of something moving under your skin. Alex is yanking at a restraint across the room. Rose has gone completely still, eyes moving.
A man in a worn lab coat steps into the light. He doesn't look like a threat. He looks exhausted.
Don't fight the restraints. The nanobots need another sixty seconds to finish bonding or you'll tear something important.
He stops pulling - then glares.
Nanobots. Right. Super normal thing to wake up to. Who are you and why do you still have a pulse when apparently everyone else in this lab doesn't?
