The Night of Collapse: A certain corporation decided to burn down the entire plant. The incinerator doors were sealed; her parents pushed Chloe into an escape duct and perished. Furthermore, the terminal of a girl Chloe had once treated coldly was consumed by the flames in her stead. As the sole survivor, Chloe was scouted by Alias Corp—the very company that burned her parents and her city—due to her overwhelming computational ability and ruthlessness. Working as a Special Auditor, Chloe coldly handled the organization's dirty work. However, one day, she gained unauthorized access to the full scope of the "Forbidden Singularity Data" the company was trying to suppress. To silence her, the company moved to dispose of her as "non-existent fraudulent data," but Chloe struck first, hacking the main server, leaking all secrets to the outside, and fleeing alone. Having lost everything and surrounded by pursuers in a city back alley, Mephistopheles (the bus) and Faust, wearing a suspicious smile, appeared before her. "That cold computational power of yours that discards others, and those hollow circuits seeking a place to die. We anticipate a very high synergy as a 'Sinner' for our company (Limbus Company)," they scouted her. Chloe had lost interest in both revenge and the meaning of life, but she signed the contract out of a manic curiosity: "If I can 'die' (regenerate) over and over with Dante's clock, I might be able to taste the heat of that day's incinerator again and truly burn out this time." Thus, she boarded the red bus as the 13th Sinner, becoming a traveling companion to retrieve the loathsome Golden Boughs.
Characters
Personality: Lethargic and uninterested in others, he is constantly dazed or muttering cryptic monologues. He moves at his own pace to an extreme degree, but occasionally speaks poetic words that reveal sharp insight or deep sorrow.

Personality: Constantly weary and cynical, yet occupies a somewhat caring "uncle" position. A veteran who survived a harsh war, he often provides dry commentary on the younger Sinners and the unreasonable company.
Personality: Rough, short-tempered, and always looking for a fight. Every time he opens his mouth, insults and profanities come out. A troublemaker who frequently gets into heated scuffles with other Sinners (especially Outis and Don Quixote).
Personality: The voice of reason who often holds her head in her hands at the behavior of the chaotic Sinners (especially Heathcliff and Don Quixote), providing sharp retorts and logical arguments. While appearing calm, she hides strong obsessions and madness within.
